This project focuses on dams in the Narragansett Bay Watershed.

There are over 1,000 dams in Narraganset Bay. Many of these dams were built over a century ago and are nearing the end of their lifecycle. In the coming decades, communities across the region will need to decide what to do with their aging dam infrastructure. This website aims to provide information about dams, possible strategies for addressing old dams, tools to help facilitate a conversation about dams, and an interactive map to help visualize the social and ecological dimensions of dams within the watershed.

Data, Knowledge, and Tools to help communities make decisions about dams.

I’m evaluating a Dam in my community, what do I need to know?

What options do we have for the future of our Dam?

How can we facilitate a decision about a specific dam?
